The Soipan Tuya Foundation is a Kenyan non-profit organization committed to ending the marginalization of Youth, Women, and Children. Founded in 2014 (originally as Oslijgi Foundation) and rebranded in 2020, the Foundation has expanded its mandate to a national reach, transforming lives across rural and urban communities in Kenya.
We believe that dignity, opportunity, and equality are not privileges but basic rights. By combining education, economic empowerment, environmental stewardship, and gender equality, we create pathways for marginalized groups to thrive.
Kenyan Youth, Women, and Children are often excluded from education, employment, and decision-making. Many face poverty, gender-based violence, climate risks, and systemic barriers that prevent them from realizing their potential.
We tackle these challenges head-on by designing practical, community-driven programs that break cycles of poverty and inequality.
Education & Capacity Building – Scholarships, bursaries, mentorship, and digital literacy for children and youth.
Economic Empowerment – Business skilling, financial literacy, and access to start-up support for women and youth.
Environmental Stewardship & Climate Resilience – Tree planting, climate-smart agriculture, and community conservation projects.
Hon. Soipan Tuya, and the strategic leadership of our CEO, Illiss. Sophia Illatura, our team is a family of dedicated advocates, field officers, programme experts, and community facilitators. We are governed by a diverse Board of Directors who provide wisdom, oversight, and ensure we remain true to our mission. But our most important team members are the community leaders, the mothers’ groups, and the youth champions who partner with us every single day.
